Ryan's Sunflowers

Here are the some of the Sunflower heads we harvested

This past week Ryan and I harvested the last of the sunflower head's from the back field. We are getting ready to  plow in the field and I didn't want to loose out on all these beautiful all natural bird feeders.  The boys, Taylor & I have always loved feeding and watching the birds. In years past we have always planted a row of sunflowers in the front garden so we could watch all the birds eat off them in the fall. Then we buy seed for the winter... not this year!  Kyle planted the entire perimeter of our back field with Mammouth Sunflowers so we would have all the seed we want for the winter to feed our feathered friends.

Ryan & I got to spend some nice quality time harvesting them together, as well as learn some work ethics.  You see, I told Ryan that he would be able to have the back row of heads to sell at market for his hard work... He is a business man through and through and after I told him the potential income and the amount of labor involved... the light bulb glowed and he was ready to roll! Like most of us, when we can see a value in what we are doing it can really get us moving.

Do we see the value in salvation?  Do we see the temporal values of this world vs. the eternal values of our determined end?  Life is filled with temporal concerns, ones that we do need to tend after... but the eternal ones are far more reaching...  Heaven is there for all those striving for it with Jesus in their hearts and leading their lives.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

Where are our hearts today...
Until next time,
Jean
